It was the major event in which the weak Indians had to fight against the brave English army. In this battle the Indians were defeated. There were the following reasons for the defeat:
1. Indians have less opportunity to fight against brave enemies.
2. There was no unity in the Indian army. For example the Bengal army wanted to continue the ideal livelihood of Mughals as it was before.
3. The North region like Kashmir, Sindh, Punjab and Rajputana did not give any support to the Indian army in battle.
4. The middle class and high class people refused to take part in the battle.
5. The leadership of this army was very weak. There was no ability of association and unity in the Indian army.
6. Most of the Indians were limited up to their own self interest. There was no such leader in the Indian army who could make balance in all the troops of the Indian army.
7. The Indian army was deficient in wealth and ammunition. The weapons which they had were weak, blunt and inactive.
8. There was no similarity and cause in the movements among all the areas.
9. Indian sepoys used to work in an uncontrolled manner.
10. Tele-communication and other media helped the British government in the struggle.
11. The British army got help from Britain in the struggle while the Indian army did not get any sort of help from anybody.
Due to the above mentioned reasons the British army was successful against the Indian army with great cruelty.
