Significance of Russian Revolution:
1. End of the despotic rule: Before the Revolution of 1917 Czar Nicholas II ruled in Russia. He was a despotic ruler who never cared for the welfare of the people. In this Revolution the Czar and the members of his family were shot dead. Thus, the Revolution brought an end to the despotic rule in Russia.
2. Establishment of the Government of Peasants and Workers: After the revolution, the power came into the hands of the Communist Party under the leadership of Lenin. The Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics was formed on the basis of the Bolshevik principles.
3. The advent of new social set up: The Government of Lenin nationalized all the sources of production including the land, factories, mines, industries, etc.
4. New Economic Policy: Alongwith the change of the Government and social set up, radical changes were made in the economy of the country. To improve the condition of the farmers and the workers the land was forcibly snatched from the landlords and distributed among the farmers. The management of the factories was handed over to the workers. All the debits were cancelled.
5. Progress after the Revolution: After the Revolution, the Russians made. much progress in all the fields and spheres of life under the guidance of the leaders like Lenin, Stalin and Khrushchev.
