1. As regards the functions of Lok Sabha, money bills can be introduced only in Lok Sabha.
2. Lok Sabha has complete control over money bills. Rajya Sabha can only delay for 14 days any money bill.
3. Any non-money bill can be introduced in either House of the Parliament, but it has to be passed by both Houses.
4. If differences arise between Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha then President can call for a joint session of both the Houses. Lok Sabha occupies a superior position as its numerical strength is more than double of that of the Rajya Sabha.
5. The Lok Sabha controls the executive. The union ministers are collectively responsible to the Lok Sabha. They have to resign if they lose its confidence. The members of the Lok Sabha have a hand in the election of President and Vice-President.
6. The Lok Sabha has a hand in the amendment of the Constitution. Lok Sabha along with Rajya Sabha may move a resolution to remove judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts on the ground of misbehaviour or misconduct. Such a resolution must be passed by two-third majority in both the Houses.
7. The President may be impeached by both the Houses. Both Houses consider the resolution of removal of Chief Election Commissioner and Comptroller and AuditorGeneral.
8. Both Houses discuss upon the Reports sent by Union Public Service Commission Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Commission, Comptroller and Auditor General and Finance Commission.
9. Lok Sabha as well as Rajya Sabha discuss the reports of the commission constituted by the government on any important issue.
